1. Product Name

Silicone Sponge Grades in AD10/16/20/24/27/33

2. Composition

A blend of organopolysiloxanes, inert fillers, peroxides, blowing agents and colour.

3. Hazardous identification

The product does not present any particular risk to either humans or the environment.

4. First Aid Measures

Skin: After handling normal washing with soap and water.

Eye contact: Flush out with plenty water.

Ingestion: Seek medical attention in such circumstances.

5. Fire Fighting Measures

In a fire situation we recommend care to be taken to avoid inhalation of the fumes or fire dust. Adequate protection must be worn e.g. face mask, self-contained breathing apparatus, eye and hand protection. Extinguishing agents: C02, powder, water or foam. NB. Product is non-flammable but will burn if ignited.

6. Accidental Release Measures

Does nor present any particular risk and can be cleared away and disposed of in a suitable container.

7. Handling and Storage

We recommend no special precautions for storage other than in a clean dry area. Pack in boxes so the product cannot be accidentally damaged or deformed, which may subsequently affect its use.

8. Exposure Controls / Personal Protection

There is no risk to health due to contact with the product and no special protective equipment is required.

9. Physical and Chemical Properties

Appearance: A fine non-interconnecting cell structure encapsulated by an outer surface skin.

The product is virtually odourless.

10. Stability and Reactivity

The product will not thermally decompose if kept in a normal storage environment. Temperatures in excess of 200 C + will bring on the effects of heat ageing and the product will eventually harden and begin to flake.

The product will be less stable if it comes into direct contact with many solvents, petroleum based oils, concentrated acids.

11. Toxicological information

The handling and use does not induce, as far as we know, any physiological disorders.

The product is not classified as hazardous.

12. Ecological information

The product is not biodegradable and would normally dispose of via landfill at the end of its life/usage.

13. Disposal considerations

Dispose of through an authorised waste contractor to a licensed site following in line with local, state or national regulations.  We only recommend incineration if an exhaust gas cleaning system is in place.

14. Transportation

There is no restriction or control on the transportation of this product. Product is packed in 3 ply re-usable boxes under the ‘Resy’ scheme and wood or plastic pallets are used, where applicable, dependent on the end destination and legal restrictions on import of packaging materials.

15. Regulatory information

The product requires no special labelling in accordance with EC directives or respective national laws.

16. Other information

This product is only intended for industrial use.
